As we commemorate the Day of the African Child 2025, the Center for Advocacy in Gender Equality and Action for Development (CAGEAD) reaffirms her dedication to promoting the rights and well-being of young people in the Northwest Region. With a focus on adolescent girls and boys, CAGEAD's innovative initiatives have made significant strides in breaking down barriers and fostering a supportive environment for growth.

CAGEAD's establishment of 15 Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) school clubs has been a game-changer. By providing essential resources, menstrual kits, and menstrual-friendly facilities, these clubs have empowered adolescent girls to manage their menstruation with dignity and confidence. This initiative has not only improved their academic performance but also helped break down societal taboos surrounding menstruation.

Recognizing the impact of crises on vulnerable communities, CAGEAD has gone beyond schools to support adolescent girls and boys in Ntamulung and Santa Village. By distributing income-generating activity items, the organization aims to equip youth with the skills and resources needed to navigate challenging circumstances and build a brighter future.

CAGEAD's advocacy work also plays a crucial role in promoting adolescent rights. Through research, community engagement, and policy dialogue, CAGEAD pushes for systemic changes that benefit young people. By engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, communities, and councils, CAGEAD ensures that the voices of adolescents are heard and their needs are integrated into policies and programs. This advocacy work complements CAGEAD's grassroots initiatives, creating a comprehensive approach to adolescent empowerment.

As we celebrate progress and reflect on the theme "Planning and Budgeting for Children's Rights: Progress since 2010," CAGEAD's work serves as a shining example of the importance of integrating child rights into national development. By fostering awareness, providing essential resources, and promoting economic empowerment, CAGEAD remains committed to ensuring that every child in the region has the opportunity to thrive. Together, let's continue to prioritize children's rights and build a future where every child can reach their full potential.
