Stakeholders Pledge Support for Women Peacebuilders

In a display of unity and commitment, 30 men as partners, and 20 stakeholders making a total of 50men, from various sectors gathered for an advocacy workshop aimed at promoting the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda. The event brought together key players, including representatives from the Governor's office, Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF), representative of the disarmament demobilization and reintegration committee (DDR), council members, clergy, traditional council members, and quarter heads.

 The workshop's interactive approach, featuring a simulated radio program and group work, fostered a collaborative environment where participants engaged in meaningful discussions and shared insights. The facilitator's innovative approach encouraged active participation, with stakeholders taking turns to present their outcomes and contribute to the dialogue.

Mr. Marceliot Djunang, representative of the Governor of the Northwest Region in his words;

"We recognize the crucial role women play in building peace and promoting stability in our communities...We pledge our support to women peacebuilders and commit to working together to create a more inclusive and peaceful society."

 Echoing this sentiment, Mukere Oliver, representative of the Regional Delegation of Women's Empowerment and the Family, emphasized the importance of collective action. "The empowerment of women is essential to achieving sustainable peace and security. We will continue to work with our partners to promote the WPS agenda and support women peacebuilders in their critical work."

 Clergy members also played a significant role in the workshop, offering valuable insights and perspectives.

The workshop culminated in a powerful display of commitment, as stakeholders took turns signing the Commitment Board, pledging their unwavering support to women peacebuilders. This collective effort marks a significant step towards promoting the WPS agenda and building a more inclusive and peaceful society.
